well, tonight is opening night of forum, and they're more or less prepared. last night went well all things considered. as a group they've taken a few steps backward vocally, but i think i can whip them into shape tonight before the show. smiley boy is still bugging, but the guy who didn't know his words now knows them. it will be a fine show, and you really can't go wrong with forum - it's hysterical, and especially with dan playing the lead. he is brilliant...
katie's not going tonight, but i reserved my two comps for her and shannah on saturday night. i'll go and warm the cast up, then i'll chill with eric and his girls at their house. it will be nice for katie and shannah to have some best-friend "alone" time for a change.
speaking of girls, my girls were two steps from being sent to the SPCA this morning (i'm SO kidding, i would never really do that, but that gives you an idea of how mad i was). they were really wiggy last night when i got home, running all over the house non-stop, crashing into things, and they actually didn't want to come to bed with us. well, this morning they were at it again. our new schedule is that they get up with katie and go downstairs while she has breakfast. then when katie comes up to take a shower, they proceed to stomp all over me in bed so i'll get up and let them out into the back yard. this morning i let them out, and within two minutes i caught rose in the jade plant playing queen of the jungle, and lily was in the hosta plant thinking she was hiding from me. i yelled at them since they know they're not supposed to be in those plants (both plants are in pots, and both very fragile - every time one of the girls jumps in them a branch breaks).
they took off running after they got busted and went to play on the patio set. i went back in the kitchen to make katie's lunch, when i heard the telltale sound of cats playing in plants. sure enough, they were in the plants again, only this time lily was in the jade plant and rose was in the hosta. i went to go get the water sprayer to really make them sorry, but they saw me and knew they were busted, so they took off again. well, that's not the end. not 30 seconds after this last time, i stuck my head out just to make sure, and they were BOTH in the jade plant. by that point all i could do was laugh, but i was seriously pissed. that plant is gorgeous and i've had it for years, and they're systematically destroying it. the hosta is not even a year old, so its death is not as poignant.
by the time i went up to take my shower, they were both as lovey and purry as can be - they had obviously worked off whatever piss-and-vinegar was in their system...
